How to Open a Dvd on Windows 10

Greetings,
I'm new to Windows 10. How do I pull up the icon of my DVD/CD drive and click on it to open it up in order to put an CD or DVD in and play it?

Press the Windows Button and E simultaneously.
In the window that appears, on the left side, click on This PC.
Right-Click on your CD/DVD Drive and click on Eject.
Is this what you are referring to?

Yes, that's what I'm referring to. However, I don't see an icon for a CD/DVD drive. What now?

This is what I do, but it might not be what you want. I just put a link on my desktop for THIS PC. Of course you have to click on THIS PC and then you can open and close your DVD drive from there.

Does the DVD/CD drive have issues opening when you push the button for it to open either all of the time or even some of the time?

Yes, thanks, I now have this done too. However I still don't get an icon for a DVD/CD drive though...

Does the DVD/CD drive have issues opening when you push the button for it to open either all of the time or even some of the time?
The DVD/CD button is covered up by the plastic case that the PC is in. I have to reach down into the crack between the button and the case and use my thumbnail to kind of finagle with the button in order for it to open the tray.

Open File Explorer.
Click on "This PC" in the left sidebar (or, if you see the CD/DVD drive there, right click on it and select "Eject")
Look in the main pane for the CD/DVD drive.
Right click on it and select "Eject"
As this would seem to be an ongoing problem, you may want to try this: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/create-a-shortcut-or-hotkey-to-eject-the-cddvd-drive/
I don't have a CD/DVD on my system, so I can't try it myself.

This solution has already been suggested upthread and he already has an icon for THIS PC on his desktop. He has indicated upthread that his DVD burner is not listed under THIS PC.
I think that he needs to check the SATA cable.

Yes, it was an upgrade from Windows 8.1
I never checked to see if an icon was present with that installation so I can't say for sure

Is your DVD drive listed in Device Manager?
You can try method 3 shown here requiring you to edit the registry. You cannot use the fixit because none is available for Windows 10. If Method 3 does not work try the next Methods in order.
